Move in day!

Well, we finally get to have a house of our own! The short sale came through and we are finally able to move in. We have been painting 3 days straight. We still haven't painted our bathroom, the downstairs bathroom, and some doors, but we have done enough to be able to move in. It's now time to get moved in! Will post pictures soon!

First Tri of the Season

We went to St George for Josh's first tri of the season! Other than his wetsuit being a bit too tight, he did great! Here are some action pictures...

Our House

House updates.... In July of last year, we contracted to buy a condo in Midvale. We were supposed to be able to move in before Eva was born.. but that didn't happen. So, we thought we could move in after she was born. That didn't work out either. So, we were living with Robyn and Craig until February. Then, Josh and I decided to take matters into our own hands and we backed out of that contract. We moved into my parent's house--for a little more wiggle room- and started the house hunt again. We finally found one that we loved! It was a short sale, so we waited about 2 months after we put in the offer for a response on it we got the house or not. Now, we are closing and will start painting this week! We can't wait! It's a great little first house and we are excited about the neighborhood and ward and all the amenities. It's going to be great!

Miss Eva has started eating solids! She is so big and doing great. She had bananas a few days ago but she still loves her single grain oatmeal.

Eva's Birth

Just going to play a little catch up. I'll start with.... Eva's birth. :) On Dec 3rd, I thought my water broke.. rookie mistake. :) We went to the hospital and they checked me and it wasn't broken. They kept me for awhile because Eva was a little distressed. They gave me fluids and after awhile sent me home. Josh and I decided that Red Robin sounded good, so we headed out for some dinner. While at the restaurant, I was feeling some contractions. I have had false labor already, so I just chalked it up to false labor. As the night went on, though, it was getting worse. I was hurting by about midnight. I called the hospital and they said to wait until the contractions were about 1 minute long. So...... I waited.... about 4am I couldn't stand it anymore. Josh and I headed to the hospital about 4:40 am, got the the hospital at 5am, told the nurses my contractions were...."awesome"(they all laughed), got my epidural by 6am and slept until 8am. About 8am is when everyone started to arrive. The nurse kept telling me to relax and try to sleep, but I couldn't! I was going to have a baby soon! about 10:15am, I was feeling some pressure. I thought my epidural was just going to one side, but they checked me and I was full dilated. I started pushing at 10:40am. It was not what I was expecting. People talk about not feeling anything but I felt it. Probably not as I would if I didn't have an epidural, but I felt it. I just kept pushing and pushing. At one point the doc told me to hold on.. but I couldn't. I pushed and she came gushing out! The doctor almost didn't catch her. She was born at 11am. 20 mins after I started pushing! Wahoo! I did tear a lot, though. I had a 3rd degree tear. The doc had to stitch me up for forever! So, I just laid there, cuddling my little wee one. She was 8 lbs 12 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. She was a little chubbers... MY little chubbers. It was the best. She just laid on my chest and snuggled me. I had waited for so long to be a mama and then it happened. I can't believe it happened. The next few days in the hospital were tiresome. I slept with her in my arms because I couldn't not hold her. Breastfeeding was hard. I had no idea what I was doing and Eva, of course, didn't know what she was doing... and so that was a bad combination. But we both kept trying and finally got it when she was 3 months. :)

SPUDMAN!

Joshy did his first Olympic Triathlon this weekend! It was awesome! I was so impressed! He followed my family's tradition and did the Spudman Tri in Burley, ID. We went up Friday with Layne and Kim and then met his family and two other friends, Matti and Alma, there. We had a great dinner--for my birthday-- and then back to the house for b-day cake and to jump into bed. Josh and I didn't sleep well. I'm sure his nerves were getting to him and well.. I'm pregnant.

We started the morning bright and early. The river was a great temperature for a swim. From what I hear, it was warmer in the water than out. Josh, Layne and Alma started at 7:05am. It was fun watching all the little orange caps float down the river. Matti, Kim and I walked along the path and cheered them on. Swimming is Josh's event so he climbed out of the river first, then Alma and then Layne.

We got a few pictures of them in the transition and then they went one way and we went the other. I did, though, get to see my sister, Kim, off. I was looking for her and then realized she was right in front of me. I started yelling for her and she was maybe about 10 ft a

way from me. Haha.. it was quite funny.

The transition from bike to run seemed a bit rough for the fellas. I can't blame them... when your legs are jelly and they expect you to run up a hill... that's no

t easy for anyone. But, they all did it! My favorite, of course, is when they come to the finish line. Alma came first of the boys, then Layne, and then Josh with his cheering fist high in the air. It was awesome. We are so proud of all of them! They all seemed tired, of course, but great after finishing. I normally lay of the ground when I'm done, but all of them were up and walking around. It was very impressive.
